A truly wonderful experience! My daughter and I were visiting the Highlands and were looking for a customizable tour/transfer from Fort Augustus to Edinburgh and found Bill. He gave us a few different routes to choose from and offered to tweak the trip to suit our needs. We were picked up (on time!) in a super clean and comfortable Mercedes sprinter- style van. Bill gave us so much interesting insight into all of the sights we visited along the way, and we really enjoyed his conversation and humor. We’ll be sure to call on Bill for a tour (or two!) on our next visit to Scotland. You can’t go wrong with Bill!

Our guide, Bill, was so friendly and such a safe and calm driver! He provided us many suggestions, wanted to know what we wanted to see and learn on the way. He gave us some great history and sights. Had a great time and would highly recommend him!!

“Bill was extremely knowledgeable of Scottish history, a well paced tour, with timely stops for morning coffee, lunch, and afternoon beverage in local, friendly restaurants and pubs! Superb tour guide!!!!”

Bill put together a fantastic itinerary for our multi-generational group of 7. He provided an overview of the rich history of Scotland in an approachable and conversational way. The transportation was first-rate, the stops were well managed, and the timeline was well planned. I would recommend Bill to my family and friends.

“Bill was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable on the history of Scotland. Very personable. Easy to understand. We modified our tour for personal interests. Everyone in the group had a great time. I highly recommend Bill for a personal tour.

This tour was amazing! It is a comprehensive tour of Skye hitting all the main spots. Bill was very knowledgeable and flexible. I cannot recommend this enough!

Bill was incredible! SO full of knowledge and very patient with our loads of questions. The vehicle was very clean and comfortable, and he navigated the twisty-tiny roads with ease 🙂 Please message me if you want more information or details about how great the tour was with Bill, as I'd love to share more!

Bill was an excellent guide. He took us all around the Inverness and Loch Ness area and was very knowledgeable about the area, its customs/stories, and history. Vehicle was very nice and comfortable and he showed us many interesting sites. Highly recommend him as a guide.

Bill is knowledgeable, easy to talk to, an excellent driver and very flexible in tailoring the tour to our interests. We would happily go on another tour with him

Bill was absolutely amazing! He took us all over Isle of Skye over a 2 day trip. We highly recommend doing 2 days instead of just one so you can get out and do all the hikes at each of the locations. Bill was friendly, knowledgeable and knew his way around Skye. It was so nice to be able to sit back and relax while he took is all over the winding one lane roads safely. When we come back, we will definitely use Bill again for a tour!

Hiring a private driver to tour the Highlands of Scotland was a brilliant decision and choosing Grant Driving Tours was an excellent choice. Bill Grant is an outstanding guide who is knowledgeable about the history, language, culture, music, foods, and whisky. Bill knew the area well and took us to the places we had asked to see as well as roads less traveled where the Caledonian forests and moors were very beautiful. We came to the Highlands to see the area where our ancestors had lived. Bill was very helpful in taking us to sites related to our family. He arranged for us to meet with a local historian who was well versed in the history of our clan. Bill was also helpful in suggesting restaurants, pubs, distilleries, and places to shop. He worked hard to help me find some specific Scottish items I was looking for. Bill is very professional, organized, and personable. He put together a timed itinerary for us to review in advance of our arrival but was also flexible in doing everything we wanted to do. He has a good grasp of how much time to allow for the places we visited without feeling rushed. It was very important to Bill that each person in our group was happy in achieving what they wished to accomplish. Bill is an excellent driver and always early. The van has comfortable seats and is very clean. Touring the Highlands has been on my bucket list for many years. We had a perfect trip, saw a lot, learned a lot, discussed a lot of things, and had lots of laughs. Bill enabled all of this to happen and we highly recommend him.

We spent five glorious days with Bill to include Edinburgh and St. Andrews, Stirling Castle, Glencoe, Loch Ness and Dornoch, Bonar Bridge and the Highlands, Isle of Skye, and a walking tour of Inverness. Along the way we enjoyed coffees, great food, a distillery, a tasting room and a final stop at a great pub! He was personable, knowledgeable, fun and flexible. He made the most of our time in Scotland: he drove (with commentary) and we were able to take it all in! (This does not begin to cover all that Bill showed us, but the highlights.) I highly recommend touring with Bill Grant anywhere in Scotland and hope he’ll visit us in Texas one day.

Your interests, your pace, your journey. The possibilities are endless.

Had a fantastic day with our guide Bill for our tour. Very communicative prior to the tour. Met us as we got off our cruise ship and took us to all the tour sites along with a few others. Bill was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and shared with us his knowledge of the history of each. His insights really added to our experience by helping us understand and appreciate the many years of history of our destinations visited, especially the significance of the battle of Culloden. I would not hesitate booking this tour. All in our group thought Bill gave us the best tour we’ve had on this trip. You will not be disappointed

Our first day touring with Bill from Edinburgh to Inverness was outstanding. From the moment we met, Bill made a great impression—warm, professional, and easy to talk to. As we drove through beautiful landscapes, he brought Scottish history to life with fascinating stories and insights that were both informative and engaging. His ability to weave in local lore, clan perspectives, and broader historical context made the drive fly by. Stops were well-planned and never rushed, with time for photos and breaks. It was the perfect blend of comfort, education, and personal attention. We ended the day excited for day two - and already knew we’d made the right choice in guides.

Wow, what an amazing addition to our Scotland Vacation. We were so glad to have Bill as our guide. We experienced a side of Scotland that we would never have seen without him. Having a driver allowed us to sit back and enjoy the landscapes as we hopped from stop to stop. There were plenty of photo opportunities and experiences, peppered with facts and stories which helped us deepen our appreciation for this great country. Bill was able to customize the tour to fit our ideal trip, it was worth every penny, would absolutely hire him again.

We had an amazing experience with Bill on our full-day tour of the Inverness area. We went to the Inverness area of Scotland via cruise ship. He picked us up right on time and made sure we got back to our ship with plenty of time. He personalized our tour based on needs and preferences. He was extremely knowledgeable of the area and its history. He took us to places that you would never see on a coach tour. One of the highlights was seeing a herd of highland cows up in the hills including a few babies. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

We booked a tour with Bill for a day trip from Edinburgh up to Inverness. Bill was an incredible guide and made a few stops on the way to Inverness where we learned about Scottish history, culture, and the beautiful landscape surrounding us. I would highly recommend booking your trip with Bill, whether it’s a short day trip like we did or multiple days. He made the experience so meaningful!

Bill Grant was simply a consummate professional travel guide ! A wonderfully organized and timed activity list and very flexible to our suggestions on the amount of time and alternatives. A wonderful historian of the Scottish history presented throughout our trip and ALWAYS on time! The vehicle was clean and comfortable 6/7 passenger. FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE!

Bill Grant is an excellent tour guide for the Highlands!! My husband and I had booked 2 days with Bill to guide us through special photographic spots on the Isle of Skye and into the Highlands north of Inverness. We liked it so much that we booked a third day to do his Woolens and Whiskey tour to the East. There is not enough space to describe how knowledgeable, interesting, and accommodating Bill is. He is indeed a true local and he was able to acquaint us with the history, language, and beauty of the Highlands in such a way that we could take the photos that we wished to take. Anyone wishing to hire a driving guide in this area of Scotland should definitely contact Grant Driving Tours and book a tour now.

We spent 3 days with Bill touring the Cairngorms, west highlands and the great glen. It was the most phantastic experience. Bill was always flexible and picking up our wishes and interests to make this a unique trip. His outstanding knowledge of the area, the people and the history of Scotland made this a perfect introduction to this beautiful country. Highly recommended! Thanks again for the great time

Fabulous way to see some sites...so relaxing. Bill brought history alive..great restaurants in Inverness. Culloden was hauntingly memorable.

The last leg of our trip to Europe this summer was so beautifully bookended by the spectacular scenery of Scotland...and the eloquent, local lore of our fantastic driver, Bill. He was such a gentleman and brought his richness of knowledge to the places we visited. Standing on Culloden was moving. Bill also brought us to great restaurants, and music venues. This was a well worth relaxing treat, stress free, and so much more than my expectations. We are still enthralled by Scotland and the sound of the lovely lilt of Bill's expressions... from Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Only a true Scot can describe what you see and, more importantly, what you don’t see. Bill’s passion and expertise made us appreciate and fall in love with the Highlands. He is personable and very accommodating. Can’t wait for our next trip here

Merci beaucoup Bill.

My mom, stepdad, and I really enjoyed getting to hang out with you and all the wonderful recommendations you made. You made our short time in the Highlands very memorable. We hope to visit again!

Bill is an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable and could talk to us about any period in history and teach us about local customs and culture too. From a practical point of view, he is on time and a safe driver. All of this made our time with him interesting, easy, and worry free. A great way to learn a lot in a short period of time!

I needed to travel from Inverness to Edinburgh with my two older teen sons. My original plan was to take the train, but I'm so glad that we found Bill instead! He created a tailored trip for us that highlighted our interest in the mountains (funicular to the top of the ski area) and got us to Stirling Castle, as well as adding many stops along the way that I would never have thought to ask for. We drove through tiny roads with glorious forests and lochs, stopping to wander through local parks. He showed us where his sons jump off the local bridge into the river below. He was incredibly friendly and eager to introduce us to Scotland with a lifetime's understanding and interest. I can't recommend traveling with Bill highly enough!

Bill collected my husband and me in Edinburgh for a 2 day tour up to Inverness and back. We had some stops planned while leaving room for novel or unexpected jaunts. You can’t get that with a large tour! We fell in love with Scotland as Bill shared his knowledge and love of his homeland. His stories brought to life what our senses were taking in. He shared Scottish history, a bit of story, and his own family experiences with each castle stop, cairn visit, mountain pass, and loch. He introduced us to the Scotch egg- a must for everyone. He found us the sweetest Highland “coos”, and brought us through lovely side roads with twists and turns that we never would have experienced on our own. Once he learned my husband played music, he tailored the trip with a beautiful stop at Dougie MacLean’s previously owned Taybank Pub, where we sat outside and chatted by the river having a lovely pint. Again, this wouldn’t have happened with a bigger tour. If you’re considering whether to do a group tour or a personal tour, you certainly should spend the extra money and hire Bill. His personalized tour is worth every penny, rather every pound! Say, “Yes” and book the trip!

We used this service on two separate occasions while in Scotland. The first was to the Isle of Skye. What an incredible experience! The driver arrived on time, was extremely courteous and very informative. We stopped frequently for photos and even took some detours to lesser known areas at our request. I could not imagine a better experience. We will definitely use this service again. I highly recommend Mr. Grant. You will not regret it!!

Me and the girls really enjoyed the tour of the Black Isle with him. He is so accommodating and kind to be with 👍 Thanks Bill Grant for that awesome experience 🙏 Lest I forgot, @affordable price too. No place like Scotland!!!

Had a great day touring distilleries near Craigellachie. Our driver, Bill, picked us up at the hotel and escorted us to four distilleries in the area. He did a great job keeping us on schedule. He was a wonderful tour guide, telling us about Scottish history and the local area. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves scotch or wants to learn a little of the area history.

I would recommend without hesitation. We had a private tour for a day around Inverness (Loch Ness, Urquhart, Culloden, Beauly). Bill was great, very knowledgeable, eager to share about the region’s history and today’s reality. We learned a lot about the Scots! He took the time to show us some of his favorite pubs and around town. Thank you for a great day!

Thoroughly enjoyed our day with Bill exploring the Cairngorms and finishing up with a visit to a favorite distillery thanks to a custom adjustment to the usual tour. Highly recommend Bill Grant for a personalized visit.

Bill was wonderful. He was prompt, had several plans to choose from to accommodate weather patterns. We had a well paced day full of beautiful scenery, great stops for tea and coffee as well as a lovely lunch. Stress free day and felt well cared for. If you are looking for a personal touch and a few good laughs, Bill will take care of you!

100% The best tour we have taken and we travel a lot. Bill was very personable and extremely knowledgeable . He knew the most interesting facts and also knew hidden gems through the beauty of Scotland. After the tour he showed us to a “real” Scottish pub and we ended up going back after dinner for the evening, It was truly a great tour and a very fun day. I highly recommend this tour and when we go back, we will be touring again with our “new” friend Bill.

My husband's ancestors were from Scotland. We contacted the guide before the tour and were able to tweak the tour to stop by several places where we walked in the footsteps of my husband's clan. Guide was personable and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Grant Driving Tours; Scotland.

Bill was absolutely fantastic. He took us to the Isle of Skye, Glenn of the Faeries, Talisker Distillery and Glencoe, to name a few places. He was extremely knowledgeable, super personable and made the entire experience somehow even more amazing. Bill was also very funny and provided a lot of fun snacks!

This tour is AMAZING and so is Bill! He was so flexible and catered the tour to what my family wanted while also ensuring we saw the highlights of the highlands! Bill is proud of/passionate about Scotland and is very knowledgeable and kind!!! I cannot recommend Grant driving tours enough!

This tour was breathtaking! The guide was very personable and even more knowledgeable about the country of Scotland. Highly recommend using Grant driving tours. If we ever return to Scotland, we will certainly use them again!

We used Bill for a chauffeur driven experience from Inverness to see a concert in Edinburgh. The car was lovely, clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. Bill was very informative about the areas we were passing and we enjoyed his company. I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

Bill Grant is a consummate tour guide with a great passion for and deep appreciation of the Scottish Highlands’ heritage (past and current), culture and natural environment. He demonstrated all of this and then some (!) when he recently led our group tour of Skye (and it’s secrets). From wonderful storytelling to expert coordination/navigation that takes account your personal needs, I’m certain that you”ll have no regrets in outsourcing your touring experience to Bill.

I genuinely cannot say enough good things about Bill and this amazing tour! Bill, as well as one of his partners, took our family of 8 on the Isle of Skye Tour. The whole day feels nothing short of a fever dream! During the tour, we got to see some of the most beautiful landscape and views I have ever seen. In addition, we got the opportunity to try some amazing food and even some authentic Scotch Whisky! All of these experiences were only enhanced by Bill's seemingly endless stream of knowledge and plethora of amazing facts about the history and significance of what we got to see! Bill somehow also managed to inquire about our own lives and interests, making sure there was never a dull moment between each destination on Skye! He continually went out of his way to make sure that we were enjoying the tour and was extremely flexible, willing to change destinations where possible to custom fit the tour to our liking! The Isle of Skye tour is one that I will NEVER forget and always cherish, largely because of Bill! I cannot say enough good things about this tour or Bill!
